Lesson Plan

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Brou
ght near by the blood of Jesus Christ. What a wonderful and humbling thought to know that we have been made near to God by the sacrifice of Jesus.

How many times have we thought within ourselves that we would like to be close to God. We think; "If I could just get in His presence how wonderful it would be." We think; "I know if I could just come before Him I could present my cause to Him and He would grant my petition." As much as we would desire this we think it can't or won't happen. We think and feel this way because of our lack of belief in what He tells us. Look at this passage:

Ephesians 2:5-6 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Do you believe this passage? Do you really? This passage tells us that we are already in heavenly places next to God the Father by being in Christ Jesus! It is a spiritual thing but in reality it is absolutely true. Through the Spirit of God we are united to God. We are one with Christ. (Read John 17, the entire chapter and when you are finished read it again and again until the reality of what Jesus petitions the Father for sinks into your heart)

When you are satisfied you fully understand the implication then dwell on this: John 14:19-23 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the natural we forget the spiritual. We think in terms of the physical and not of the spiritual. Nicodemus had great trouble with this. When Jesus told him he must be born again all he could think about was the impossibility of entering again into his mother's womb. He was blind to the transformation of the spiritual man. He was ignorant of the spiritual world that exists and is not bound by physical laws.

When we are united by the Spirit of God to Christ we become one with Him in a very real way. We may not be cognizant of this fact but as Bible believers we know and accept it as fact because God tells us it is fact. I God's word tells me that I have been made to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus then I can take it to the bank. When I am told that Jesus and the Father have taken abode in my inner man then I am going to accept it by faith and am going to believe that it is so even if my natural man denies it.

The next time you pray and think your prayers are not reaching the ceiling then stop for a moment and realize that maybe you are trying to send them in the wrong direction. If God resides within and you are His Holy Temple (1 Cor. 6:19, 2:Cor. 6:16, Eph. 2:21) then maybe you out to try to reach Jesus in your heart. When thinking on this it is instructive to read Solomons words in 1 Kings chapter 8 concerning praying toward the Temple. We ought to realize that if we will pray humbly and fervently in the right spirit that prayer will settle in our heart and we will know we have been heard.

We are in the presence of God when we have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. We just need to quit grieving Him (Eph. 4:30) to the point He is silent toward us.

Inheritance

I can not earn
What my Lord has given
With meekness I learn
Of abundant grace.

I can not work
My way into His grace
Only my Saviour
Can bring me into
His holy place.

Only my Saviour
Can provide
This inheritance
To those who believed
And with Him, abide.

Inheritance
Belongs to children
Of The King…
Who believed in their hearts
On Christ's perfect offering.

He gave all for His children
And paid full price
That they may live richly
In Paradise.

My treasures are stored
Within my soul
By the One who healed
And made me whole.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them
on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you from
the foundation of the world:
