Christmas in Wartburg

by Jenny Wren

The City or Wartburg - why, yes, all over town
Is gaily flouncing her new Christmas gown
Here's an anticipation it is filling the air
Bright decorations are seen some here and there

The grocery stores even the old five and dime
Windows at school say "It's CHRISTMAS TIME."
The Post Office, Courthouse so busy are they
They are all getting ready for a long Holiday

Main street shore pretty with bubbly lights
Bringing such joy to this one Christmas sight
Old SANTA CLAUSES perch on porches and roofs
(Our yard is tracked with tiny deer hoofs)

Lil' Manger scenes are seen here and there
In WARTBURG, TENNESSEE Christmas is here
The snow men standing it really seems funny
Grass is still green, the days still sunny

To EASTERN TENNESSEE, Christmas is coming
Christmas carols the radios are drumming
Shoppers are shopping both uptown and down
There's quite a bustle, all over the town

Bright paper and ribbon on presents galore
Gifts carried by the patrons in every store
Now, I get in line, my own gifts to check
Watching kids trying mom’s nerves to wreck.

There! I'm finally out and then on my way...
Loaded with the GOODIES for our Holiday
I 1ook into the window of one of the shops
Capturing the scenery my last walking stops

There sat old Santa Claus perched on a chair
With a tiny child sitting upon his knee, there
He is telling. old Santa the wants of his heart
For all of the kid, this is the best part

Church plays are seen here leaving no doubt
What every Christmas Celebration is all about
King OF KINGS,,Why it's JESUS' BIRTHDAY,
Morgan county celebrate his living, this way

From in the country, to the rest of the world
Greetings sent every man, woman, boy and girl
A heart filled with love plumb full o’ cheer
Merry Christmas Y'ALL have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Luke 2:11
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord..................He is the tree of life,

God just showed to me

the prettiest thing,, Jesus as you know is the tree of life,

We are his offspring, the fruit which hangs onto this tree until picked. That old tree bares fruit every month and he uses that fruit in many ways (us)
help others with their learning, serving others; while we are here
loving others, while we are here feeding others, while we are here,
while we are here some of us are still in the blossom of life while some are little and green and knotty,
some are as green as gourds but with the Lord’s loving and the sun (son), the loving son, will soon ripen us...

Some are not quite ripe, some just ripe enough and picked, to be used by the Lord. Some do missions for our tree, the Lord,
And some ripe and mellow just try to send forth beauty and aromas of love. Some of us are just plain old rotten, like me. Step on me and I am a mess – me - old jenny wren. Sticks and stones can make a mess out of life. Yet still God loves me.

I am long past due. l will be dropping from the tree soon and going back into the ground, releasing my spirit back to him who gave it, while my raunchy old body will produce more nutrients for more fruit, for the master, on his tree of life, to grow on this wonderful tree of life
named Jesus, who lives within us, to feed others from the fruits he gives us to grow.

Each apple has more seeds of the same inside and life recycles over and over. See the little saplings under the tree? Grandchildren of the tree
which shall carry on God’s mission for him on earth, in earth, while on earth, until we are taken away, and life ends here to begin anew in heaven. Each apple holding the seeds for another tree of life, for the Lord. Replant the seedlings, anywhere, and let them grow.

Lord the celebration of your only begotten son can be had at any time of the year as far as I am concerned and I just wanted to thank you and praise your holy name for sending him and saving our souls.

Amen
