The Mender of Broken Things
Sometimes we waste way to much of our time and energy trying to do things on our own when if we would have just ask God for help to begin with, we could have saved ourselves a lot of aggravation and heartache! Are you trusting God to help you with the things you need to do? What about the things you think are small? God delights in helping us when we go to Him in faith. HE IS SO GOOD and I LOVE HIM! :O))
Do you ask God to help you? Maybe you are someone who saves the BIG stuff to ask for help? Maybe you feel like God is not interested in helping you with “small” things because you can do it all by yourself? Beloved, God wants to be involved in every aspect of your life. Let me rephrase that…God wants to be your life! Everything should revolve around HIM. There are so many times when we work and work trying to resolve something because it seems small, however we keep messing it up and we never just ask God for help. It reminds me of a poem I once read called broken things.
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow"
"My child," He said, "What could I do?
You never did let go."

There is nothing to hard for God, but we hinder His work sometimes when we reuse to get out of His way and let Him work. Sometimes we can hinder His work when we refuse to have faith in Him. Our faith moves the hand of God.
Matthew 13:57-58 “And they were offended in HIM. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And HIM did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Do you need a miracle in your life? Do you believe with your heart that God can and will do this thing you have asked? Sometimes being human, we struggle with faith and believing things we cannot see with our eyes. However, it is our faith in God that moves His heart. He knows each person and if they truly believe or not. If we are ever having trouble with believing, what we can do is to repent and ask our Heavenly Father to help us to have more faith. What did he man recorded say in the Bible about his unbelief?
Mark 9:17-24 “ 17And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 18And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. 19He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 20And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 21And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
LORD help my unbelief! Help me with my faith! When we ask with a sincere heart, He will help us!
Back some years ago when my twin brother had been in a terrible four wheeler accident. He lay in the hospital ICU on a breathing machine unable to do anything on his own, he was so broken and my heart was in pieces with worry and hurt. That morning I was getting ready to go back to the hospital to see him, and my 7 year old little boy came into the room and he had a pair of sun glasses that the handle had broken off of. He came to me and said, can you fix this please? He had tried and tried to fix it and he just could not snap the handle back in place. I took the glasses and in just a second I had snapped it back into place and it was repaired with little effort. He was so happy and went about playing. The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said, doctors can try and try to fix your brother, but I created him, I can put him back together with little effort. What is impossible with man, is very possible with ME!
My heart jumped up and down!!! LORD I BELIEVE! You can do all things! And HE did. Today, in spite of what the doctors thought, my brother is at home, doing very well. Our GOD is most awesome and HE will move heaven and earth to answer the prayer of faith that HIS child cries out. HE IS SO GOOD AND HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER!
Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon The LORD shall renew heir strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Do you believe HE would move heaven and earth for the prayer of the righteous? Do you believe that He would make time stand still for the faith filled prayer of HIS servant?
\Joshua 10:12-14 “12Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel”
He same God that did all these things for His children in the Bible days, is the same God who you and I serve and He can do anything! Are we believing Him and trusting Him as we should? He can help us. If you are having trouble believing God for something, be honest with yourself and with God and just confess it to Him. Say LORD, I am having trouble in my flesh believing and I really need and want you to help me with this. Please help me. If you will pray that honestly…God will reach down and help you. Sometimes you must pray many times, other times maybe just once, but never give up because He loves you and He wants you to trust, and believe what He says.
If you are broken today, or if something is broken in your life, know that God has allowed this time to bring you closer to Himself. Humble yourself down and talk to Him. Be honest with Him and ask for His help. He can mend your broken heart, your broken marriage, your broken family, your broken health, your broken mind. Many times, we think we can fix these things but we only put a bandage over the wound and it never truly heals, but God, He heals it for good. Anything that is broken He can mend. We must first pray His will be done and mean it and we must pray in faith believing. He knows your heart and if you are trusting Him.
I love you all and I’m praying for you. Know that God is your healer and He waits to help you…all you must do is continue to call out to Him and obey what He tells you to do. God bless you all.
Dear Righteous and Heavenly Father,
We bow before You today, thanking You that You are the mender of broken things. We thank You that You are all powerful and NOTHING is to hard for You. I thank you for what YOU have done for my brother...and the countless things you have done for our family and for every one of YOUR children on the face of the earth! I give You Praise forever.
Father we ask today that if there is any unbelief in our hearts whatsoever, that You get that out of us and help us to fully trust and rely on You alone. Lord we love You and we know that You love us. You have proven Yourself time after time and You are The Faithful One. There is none like You, nor will there ever be! Thank You for showing such grace, mercy, and love to us. Heal us and cleanse us and help us to always follow You, trusting and doing what You have commanded us to do. In the Lovely name of precious Jesus we pray…Amen.
