Opening Prayer: Give a prayer of thanks to our Heavenly Father who blesses us with time today to learn together from His Book - The Bible. May He bless us with opportunities to share Jesus and His love with others He places in our lives. Let us ask  thank the Lord for His help and continual presence in our lives.

Lesson Memory Verse :

Psalm 35:28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness
and of thy praise all the day long.

I Love To Tell The Story

I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love.
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true;
It satisfies my longings as nothing else can do.
Refrain
I love to tell the story, ’twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.
I love to tell the story; more wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams.
I love to tell the story, it did so much for me;
And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.
Refrain
I love to tell the story; ’tis pleasant to repeat
What seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet.
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.
Refrain
I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song,
’Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.
Refrain

Today's Bible Reading :
1 Corinthians 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.9For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

Follow Up Questions:
1. Do you remember the hymn from the last lesson ?
( Go tell it on a mountain )

2.  Do you remember what that song was about ? Talk about it and
perhaps just read the words of the song to the children or sing it again :
Refrain
"Go, tell it on the mountain,
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain,
That Jesus Christ is born.

While shepherds kept their watching
O’er silent flocks by night
Behold throughout the heavens
There shone a holy light"

RefrainThe shepherds feared and trembled,
When lo! above the earth,
Rang out the angel chorus
That hailed the Savior’s birth.
Refrain

Down in a lowly manger
The humble Christ was born
And God sent us salvation
That blessèd Christmas morn

Go tell it ---  Amen.

3.  What is the message in today's hymn ?  Sing it again and talk about it.
( Jesus, Salvation, God's holy word - loving to tell about it ! )

4.  Fill in the blank to today's memory verse :
And my ___________ shall speak of thy righteousness
and of thy praise all the _____________ long.

5. Fill in the blanks to today's Bible reading :
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are ________: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.9For we are labourers together with _______: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's  ______________.

6.  Today's Bible reading  tells us that we all work together for an important purpose and even if our jobs are different they are with the same value  and purpose according to the will of God.  The Good News of Jesus can be sung and heard by others. The Good News of Jesus can be taught about in Church or Bible Studies. The Good News of Jesus can be written about in letters to others or placed into to prayer to God to bring the Gospel to new hearts that have never yet heard.
 Someone plants. That is important.
Someone waters. That is just as important.
Verse 9 tells us that we do not do anything without God.   We work together with God !
We work with Him together, we all serve Him together and He works within us so that our hearts can be a blessing to the wonderful ministry of Christ Jesus.

The ending to verse 9 -  "ye are God's building" can be compared to  another verse found in Corinthians : 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

7.  Lesson Activity :  Drawing Paper  or paper plates / Crayons
Have the children draw a picture scene  of someone planting seeds
and someone watering.

They should write the words on the top of the drawing ( or with your help ) :
We work together with God.

7. Will you do more to make it known to another about Jesus ?

Ministry

Lord, guide me to help others
with your gifts of love and charity
May I bring a helping hand
and recognize another's need
Mindful that my vocation in Christ
is gently done in truth and deed.

Thank you for giving me sight to
see the best in others,
and allowing me to know my
blessed sisters and brothers
who love the vocation of ministry
Led by Christ who made us free...

Free to speak of your love and grace
and carry the Good News from place to place.
Lord,in my heart there remains a song
of thankfulness and praise to You
that I joyfully sing throughout the days.

Thank you, Lord.

Acts 6:4
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer,
and to the ministry of the word.
