LESSONS AND HANDOUTS FOR THIS WEEK

World Sunday School first appeared on the Internet on May 14, 2003. Since that time, this independent website has supplied weekly graded Sunday School lessons and handouts (and, often, coloring pages) to help Sunday School teachers worldwide. We hope to help preserve the Sunday School movement which had its glory days in the 1930's. In a time when so many churches are downsizing Sunday Schools, we aim to preserve this Christian teaching to enrich the life of children and youth worldwide.

So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

CURRENT LESSON PLAN
Trusting God
June 26, 2022

Having laid the foundation of salvation through faith without works in Chapter 4 Paul gives us some "fruit" that comes with the free gift of salvation. Here in the first 4 verses of chapter 5 we have laid out for us some of the greatest blessings of being in Christ Jesus.

CURRENT HANDOUT
Trusting God

To know God in a faithful relationship is to know peace. To know that we can stand before God in Judgment and not be condemned is to have a peace of mind that cannot easily be explained. To know that when God looks on us and our lives what he sees is His Son and the life that He lived is way beyond simple and basic understanding, but it gives unfathomable peace. To have this peace means that we can face anything that this life can throw at us and not have to fear. Jesus addressed this to His disciples when He told them "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28). Man may be able to inflict harm, pain and death to the body but a Christian who will actively seek the will of God and seek to be the best Christian he or she can possibly be will be able to tap into this reservoir of peace. This knowledge not only gives peace about physical harm and eternity but it also gives us peace of mind on a daily basis concerning the cares and stresses of this life that so weight is down. Sickness, injury, care of loved ones, concern over our jobs and even the trivial things that add to the burden are eased when we "take it to the Lord in prayer" and turn it over to Him.

GRADE 3-6 LESSON - June 26, 2022

Joseph 6

CURRENT LESSON PLAN - Joseph 6 - True Transformation, by Lisa DeVinney

Author’s Notes:  Last week we asked the question: can a leopard change his spots?  We found that while it cannot, if it were to become a whole new creature, for example – a lion, then it could be rid of its spots.  And we learned that God can make us into brand new creatures when we are born again.  He can wash away our sin-spots with the blood of Christ.  But how can we know that this change has really taken place?  There should be changes in our lives that are consistent with that new creature that we’ve become.  Today we’re going to take a close look at Joseph’s brothers, to see if there’s any evidence that their hearts have truly changed.  And we’ll take a close look at ourselves, too, to see if there’s evidence that we are truly new creatures, with the Holy Spirit living inside.
